Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based and solution-focused approach to help you focus on the changes you want, rather than what you don’t want, and is widely considered to be the gold standard in hypnotherapy training. It is a brilliant combination of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), which is a brain-based talking therapy, and hypnosis. It also takes lessons learnt from positive psychology, neuroscience, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). It utilises a natural, relaxed and solution-focused state of mind to help you reach your true potential or change a behavioural pattern or habit. It is simple but sophisticated and we keep it positive and fun. During weekly sessions we will focus on what you aim to achieve rather than the problems that prompted you to want change, and utilise the natural state of trance to help effect deep and lasting change.
Hypnosis, or trance, is more like deep relaxation than deep sleep or the realms of mind control and stage hypnosis. You will not do anything you do not wish to do and it can change a person only as much as they want to be changed. Therefore, hypnotherapy enables you to achieve the things you want – and it is teamwork.
As you are in a more relaxed state, you are more able to focus and accept the suggestions put to you. It is the natural harnessing of focused thought, which is a powerful state of learning and transformation. You are simply guided into that relaxed state by being asked to focus your mind and allow yourself to imagine the benefits of change.
It’s how the brain works. So just relax and switch the polarity around and focus your thoughts on how you want things to be, rather than how you don’t want them to be, and withdraw all your thoughts from the problems, so you attract the solutions.
